“The Department of Psychology at M.R. College (Autonomous) was established in 2023 with the vision of providing quality education in Psychological science to undergraduate students. Since its inception, the department has been dedicated to fostering intellectual growth, scientific inquiry, and professional ethics among students. The department aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand human behaviour, promote mental health/wellbeing, and contribute meaningfully to society. Though innovative teaching methods, research opportunities, and student engagement, the department continues to grow as a center of academic excellence in psychology.”

Psychology is as Multi Disciplinary Course (MDC):

Psychology is highly valuable as a multidisciplinary course for undergraduate students because it integrates knowledge from various fields and applies it to diverse real-world contexts. Psychology’s interdisciplinary nature makes it an essential course for understanding undergraduate students, providing them with versatile skills applicable in healthcare, education, business, law, technology, science and social sciences. It equips students with analytical thinking, Motivational skills, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving abilities, preparing them for various career paths and societal contributions. Psychology helps in offender rehabilitation and victim support.
