Maharajah’s College (Autonomous) celebrated World Ozone Day on 16th September 2026 to create awareness about the importance of the ozone layer and its vital role in protecting life on Earth from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
The programme focused on the significance of ozone layer protection, environmental conservation, and sustainable practices. Students and faculty actively participated in the programme and gained valuable insights into environmental challenges and the collective responsibility to protect the planet for future generations.
The programme featured two distinguished resource persons who shared their expertise and perspectives on environmental protection and sustainability:

The sessions provided students with an opportunity to understand the importance of environmental responsibility and the need for sustainable practices in safeguarding the Earth’s natural resources.
A total of 150 students attended the programme and actively participated in the awareness activities. The celebration served as an informative and meaningful initiative towards promoting environmental consciousness among the student community.
