The Department of Physics, Maharajah’s College (Autonomous), Vizianagaram, successfully organised “Bharat in Orbit – 2026” as part of the National Space Day celebrations on 22 August 2026.The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various institutions, including Apex Junior College, Government Junior College, Aditya Degree College for Women, and GCSR Degree College, Vizianagaram.As part of the event, an online special lecture was delivered by Sri S. Reddeiah, Associate Project Director, SDSC SHAR, providing students with valuable insights into India’s space programme and developments in space science and technology.The celebrations also included student seminars, PPT presentations, poster presentations, model-making activities, and the COSMO-MPC Quiz. These activities provided students with opportunities to showcase their creativity, knowledge, and interest in space science.The programme aimed to create awareness about India’s achievements in space exploration and highlight the emerging opportunities in space science and technology. It successfully inspired and encouraged young minds to develop a deeper interest in scientific research and India’s growing space sector.
