The Department of Commerce at Maharajahs College Vizianagararam as an under Graduate Department Established In the year 1949. It is the first and Largest Department in M. R. College in terms of student strength and faculty. The former Hands of the Department and other distinguished retired teaching staff members who made tremendous Contribution for development and growth of the Department. The indelible imprint left by them in the department is still visible.
The Department offers under graduate Courses i.e., 1. B. Com (General & Computer Applications) along with Certificates Courses Tally and GST and add on Programmes. At present 12 staff members UG are working in the Department. Department has been maintaining a separate departmental Library for catering to the needs of both teachers and students. There are 954 books in the Library.

- For the sake of the Department and Students benefits there have long serviced faculty with high qualifications and the junior faculty time to time upgraded their basic qualifications with SET/NET/Ph.D.
- Department succeeded in the part of enlighten the students with technical concepts we guiding and encouraging the students of B.COM., towards their active participations into the State Level Commerce Events organized by the various colleges.
- The students of B.COM., Commerce, got a 1st Prize for the event of Poster Presentation on “Commerce Empire”, in the State Level Competition “Disha MCS”, organized by the Department of Commerce & Management, at Samata College, Visakhapatnam.
- Trained our students in Tally & GST as the Department has been offering a Certificate Course in Computer Applications, successfully.
