Educational Field Visit to the Floating Solar Power Plant, Mudasarlova
Students of the Department of Physics, Maharajah’s College (Autonomous), Vizianagaram, undertook an educational field visit to the Floating Solar Power Plant at Mudasarlova, Visakhapatnam.
The visit provided valuable practical exposure to the working of a floating solar power system. Students learned about bifacial solar panels, floating structures, anchoring and mooring systems, inverters, electrical connections, grid integration, power generation, safety measures, and operation and maintenance practices.
Interaction with the site engineers helped the students connect classroom concepts with real-world renewable-energy applications. The visit also created awareness about the role of innovative solar technologies in clean-energy generation, optimum land utilisation and sustainable development.
