As part of the Government of India’s “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” initiative, an awareness programme on anti-drug measures was successfully organized by the Vizianagaram EAGLE Teams in collaboration with the NSS and NCC units of Maharaja’s Autonomous College, Vizianagaram. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a safe and healthy future for youth.

The Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. T. Kalyani, Circle Inspector, EAGLE Visakhapatnam Range, addressed the students and explained the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug addiction. She highlighted that drug abuse not only destroys the future of youth but also severely affects families and society.

She advised students to remain alert, especially considering the increasing threat of drug usage around educational institutions. She urged students to immediately inform the police by calling 1972 if they notice any suspicious activities related to the sale or usage of narcotic substances.

During the programme, EAGLE Cell Sub-Inspector S. Sweety encouraged students to actively participate in sports, education, and social service activities and advised them to stay away from harmful habits.

Later, students were administered an anti-drug pledge and were encouraged to spread awareness against drug abuse in society and contribute towards building a drug-free environment.

The awareness session was presided over by the Principal of Maharaja’s College, Prof. M. Sambasiva Rao. EAGLE Team officials U. Vijay Kumar, Koteswara Rao, Venkatesh, and Lakshmana Rao, Student Section Convenor V. Babji, faculty members, NSS and NCC Programme Officers, and a large number of students participated in the programme.

The programme concluded with a strong message to the students to stay away from drugs and work towards creating a healthy and drug-free society.
